Am i too young to wear a tampons?

I just turned 14 and i am sick and tried of pads. they are gross and i dint know i just hate them. so i asked me mom if we could get some but she didn't really answer me. so i guess my question is "a i too young to wear a tampon?

I guess the main question here is Are you a virgin? If you are, i would recommend the slimfits or light ones as they are more slender and won't hurt if you're still a virgin, thats what they make smaller ones for. It's a myth that young girls and virgins can't use tampons easily.

If you aren't, you won't have a problem at all with them.

As with all feminine hygiene stuff, be sure to change em often. Good luck!

You're not too young at all!

Start with "slim" tampons, and try plastic aplicators instead of cardboard.  Get the ones with the plastic rounded tips, they are MUCH easier to insert.  I think putting one in the first time is the hardest thing, so make sure you have some time in the bathroom when no one else will be knocking, and take your time.  Relax.  Tampons are like FREEDOM while on your period- you can swim... not worry about smell, etc.  Remember to read the leaflet that comes in every tampon box, and don't have one in when you aren't bleeding.  That's really important, ok!?!   Good luck!!!!!!

No, but how are pads icky? You don't have to pull them out. Anywhoo, you are not to young to wear them, as soon as you get you're period you have the choice to wear pads, or tampons.

theres no age at which your alowed to use tampons..jee you could start using them when you first got your period..

anyways, whole point is to do what you feel comfortable with.

I've been wearing tampons since i first started my period when i was twelve. There is no certain age to wear tampons. Just make sure you use the right absorbency. And at first if you don't know what absorbency to use ... start with regular and use a pantyliner. read the instructions that come with the tampons. Then maybe you will feel more comfortable. It's never to young to wear a tampon! But your mom is probably worried about your virginity. Does your mom, herself, uses a tampon? If she uses one herself, it's easier to talk to her about it. But if she, like mine, uses a pad, then it's more difficult. Try talking to her about it before asking about anything wrong with yourself. You need to sit down and talk to her. if you think it's awkward like I do, you should ask another question and i'll be glad to answer it.
