Am i viewing 720P or 1080P?

i have an HDTV that has a 720P display resolution. it has input video sources of up to 1080P. if i hook up a 1080P source, i am viewing 720P, 1080P, or something else?

  1. 720p. It cant be higher than your native tv resolution. It means it will accept a 1080p signal but it will be converted and displayed at 720p.


  2. If your TV has a 720 display on it, then ALL signals are converted to deliver a 720 picture to your 720 display.....

    The same would apply to a 1080P TV set....all signals will be converted to fit the display....
