  1. Yes!

While I can fully understand being a mum of two boys who race motocross, one of which has had broken more bones than I care to remember.  Basically they can get hurt walking across the road and while it is hard to watch when it is a loved one out there racing, you just have to suck it up and let them do what they want to do.

The chances are he will be just fine and if it is his first time he will probably be at the back of the pack anyway. But he will be proud to have you watching.  So try and enjoy the racing as it is obviously part of his life or it is going to be.

Playing football can be just as dangerous!

  2. Yes you are and too much of it will put him

off - When my 'thingy' started racing (probably

before you were born) I was always so

excited - anyone would have thought that he'd

already won his race, before he'd even started.

Take your mind off it by helping to get his gear

ready - goad him up a bit by giving him a slap

around (you know like they do for boxing).

I was so into his racing that I took it up

myself - we have both retired from it now

    though (for the 5th time).

Most of the time, racing on a track is far

safer than say going for a good bike ride

on normal roads. Having good leathers,

armour protection etc will be essential.

Trust me, once you see all those guys in

leathers (including yours) you'll wanna go

back time and time again !!

Relax and enjoy your man having fun - x*x -
