i have 2 cats, 1 of them since a kitten, hes perfect and the other one was dumped so i took him home & hes kinda feral, he doesn't like getting pats and will attack if you get to close. & now he's started on my other cat. ive never had 2 cats before so i don't know if they are playing or fighting?

I just came in my room and my good cat was all crouched down and the feral one was standing over him, it looked nasty so i told him to get away, then 5 minutes later he snuck up and did it again. Then when i tried to break it up again he attacked my arm.

i just want to make sure there not just playing and I'm yelling for no reason. there growling at each other right now.. is that normal. its doing my head in!!

  1. Cats wont mind and just go hide til you do something else. Im a Leo so that makes me a cat dont it or a lion. Plp wants me stay here and keep answering most questions they can find the answers to on the Web. I say no Im tired and going to bed cas Im a cat. You get the point. purrrrr lol

  2. I would suggest you get one of them rehomed, I'm a bit worried by the way you talk about a good cat and a bad cat. Cats know where they are in the pecking order and if the other cat is clearly your favourite, it won't make the aggressive one any easier to have around. The feral one might be happier somewhere with a big garden and no other cats that he can live mainly outside in and not have to bother too much about humans.

Having said that my two cats are brothers and they still wrestle a bit. The big one feeds the need to show he's boss occasionally. When I first had them I worried about this but people said  to let them sort it out themselves and actually they have. Don't shout at your cat: you'll frighten both of them. I use a low growly voice to tell them off if they fight, and they know it means they have incurred my displeasure.

  3. yelling at cats is useless.

  4. Are these cats neutered?  If not the aggression could be due to their male hormones.  Get these cats neutered and odds are this aggression will go away.

  5. They are either just trying to get to know each other or one of them is very Territorial

Dont yell at the cat i know its hard d**n cats are hard to teach. They do what they want when they want believe me i had 5

  6. if it is just growling and hissing no actual  physical fighting i would not worry. i stopped trying to referee my cats just a lot of noise no real fights. sometimes they get along ok other time you would think one is getting killed (loud angry screams)

  7. If it is attacking you and your other cat in my opinion you might want to think about trying to rehome and if it is ferel and not able to handled at all, I hate to say this but you might want to consider euthanasia. Can he be an outdoor cat???
