  1. I've never put to much thought into #2. & 3. But I do know that my son in pre-k last year & Kindergarten this year learned about the planets and they made them and you can also buy the kits at walmart. the kids absoulutely are amazed with those things!! And there are the ones that kids can paint. anything that they can do hands on no matter what the subject will get them interested!!!

  2. oh if the princeable lets u then you could hatch eggs or go outside and teach them weather take a thermometer. Or u could make marsh mellow clouds and show them precipitation . Just don;t make it seem so hard.

  3. 1.  Scientific exploration is best.  Set out color paddles, which are pieces of plastic that you can look through.  Allow them to explore the environment with magnifying glasses.  Put out a bunch of magnets.  Sink/float is another fun experiment.  Clean pennies with lemon juice, vinegar, and water and see which works best.  Try blowing things across a table using a straw, a fan, waving your hand, etc.

    2.  Role play addition by giving two children different amounts of something, then have them put their items together.  Introduce fractions by cutting an apple into equal pieces.

    3.  Here are three lists of activities to do with food.

  4. Science is developed through logical mathematical thinking.  You can take the children outside and explore the grass and other coverings outside.  They are using their observation skills.  Science is nurtured through play.  Children also benefit from touching and feeling items.  They can touch leaves, nuts, shells, rocks, snow, sand or water.   Planting seed help the children to watch a plant grow from a seedling.  This is a useful science aide.

  5. Check Usborne Books for some wonderful science books, including experiements and activities, for kids of all ages!  They also have cookbooks, "Why Shouldn't I Eat Junk Food", and more!  http://www.ubah.com/g2687

  6. 1. Science- you could grow things like mushrooms, or plant a garden. Cooking, match the baby animal with the adult animal.

    2. Maths - You could make each child a number and then they have to put themselves in order. You could also get a song or game where the children have to count how many children there are.

    3. Make something out of healthy food - like a fruit rocket. Cooking, plant a veggie garden, have the children bring a food starting with a certain letter.

    Example

    day 1 avocado

    day 2 banana

    day 3 carrot etc

Sorry I can't think of a 5th at the moment.

  7. 1. You could take the kids outside with magnifying glasses and let them explore and see what they can find. Or they could grow their own plants and decorate flower pots for them.

    2. For math you could use the kids to show adding. Like make groups of them and then show addition.

    3. A fun one would be to set up a sort of class "store", and you could lay out all healthy foods and let them pick.
