  1. Contact your local ASPCA, help those who cannot speak for themselves!

  2. Hi,

I used "Credit Solution" to settle my debt and improve my credit score. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58% .It's legitimate.I came across this company on NBC News.Check it out here:

  3. The kind of volunteering you do determines what kinds of checks are done. If you want to work directly and unsupervised with those served by an organization -- children, women, the elderly, etc. -- you can expect to have a full criminal background check done, as well as extensive interviewing of yourself and your references. If you want to work at "childminding" places or hospitals, you can expect at least a criminal background check, maybe more.

If the kind of volunteering you want to do would never put you in a position to be alone with anyone or alone in the office, would not give you access to clients, nor to have access to confidential information or to be in a position where you could harm the organization (like deleting all of their computer files), then the checks aren't going to be as extensive - probably just a check of your personal references and some interviewing.

Also, different volunteering requires different skills. Some opportunities require that you be trained; others require that you just show up.

You don't say in what country you are, otherwise I would give you a list of web sites that list volunteering opportunities in your area. So, just go to Google and type in the name of your city or country and the word volunteer -- that should bring up the web sites that list volunteering opportunities in your area.

  4. The closer you work with children, the more scrutiny you will

be under.  What do you mean by "warnings"?  Written?

Verbal?  If there is no permanent record, you will probably

be fine.  It wasn't over something like dangling a baby sister

out a window or something was it? If it was under aged

drinking or speeding, etc.  you are in a majority of people

who have made mistakes and grown up to be good solid

    citizens.

  5. You can check out Volunteer match or Network for Good to find opportunities in your area that may interest you. Best of luck to you.

    http://www.networkforgood.org/volunteer/

    http://www.volunteermatch.org/

P.S. You can find out from whatever organization you decide to try what their requirements are and go from there. It will vary.

  6. I Have just stopped volunteering after 18 months.

They will need solid proof of who you are and will take out a CRB check on you. The warnings you have and the debt is nothing to do with them and will not harbour your chances of becoming a volunteer however, it is best you tell them. You must be "straight" with them. If you are "Befriending" or shopping for the elderly and housebound it is a free addition to your insurance but you must tell them by law. Don't take too much on and NEVER EVER give out your address or telephone number to ANYONE....That is VERY important.

Good Luck to you. ( Go and ask at the local Adult Education Centre.)...................xxxxxxxxxxxx
