Am new to torrents and downloading them. am using utorrent 1.8?

my question is before i download a torrent what must i look for. parameters like seeds, peers and leechers. help me.

Seeds are the most important. Seeds are people with the full file who are uploading. Your computer can download the file from seeders.

Leechers are those who don't have the full file. They may be downloading it from another source and will eventually become seeds, but generally, if your computer is downloading from leechers but not seeders, you won't have the full file. Sometimes it happens that the various leechers add up to the full file, each with its own pieces. Your computer will tell you if you have access to the full file - that's availability. If availability is over 1, you are currently able to connect to the entire file.

Peers are simply the combination of seeders and leechers.
