could u tell me,how much do i have to spend to get perfect acoustic grated home theater?...and am plannig to buy a sony dav-dz 750k home theater ?..if u know any guy from chennai who can do acoustic tretment for my room @ affordable cost?....

home thetere is very vast in what u can get

personaly i think sony is fantastic however they struggle with audio

i recommend the yamaha yht 285s or yht 185b/s

they come with their own reciever and is much better quality than the sony's

however when buying remember the goldern rules

- always listen to the speakers first

- buy what u like to listen to - sound is different to everyone and there is no such thing as the perfect system

do not try to build a hometheater with an htib system. you will be dissapointed. especially one from sony. sound quality is terrible. the subwoofer flattens out too soon. the front three speakers to not give any sence of a wide soundstage.

what you are going to want to do for a true home theater is build using seperate components. a reciever, dvd player, speaker system. and any other source units you may want to hook to it, i.e. xbox, tape player, and tv or video projector.

you want your speakers to be acoustically matched also called timbre matched so you get a good even clean sound from across the front three speakers. your reciever should have enough inputs to handle all of your gear including a cable or satellite box and have all the lasted connections such has hdmi or at the very least component and optical inputs. you dont want to cheat yourself when building a home theater but on the same token you dont have to spend the bank to achieve this. be smart, demo your equipment before you buy and see and things look and sound to you. after all you are the one who is going to be using it.
