I have an am/fm radio casette walkman. I was wondering how far can am radio signals be receivable? Like how many miles? For example, the Radio Disney station i listen to is the am SF/Oakland staion because i'm from the bay area. If i were to go to monterey, can i still recieve the signal?

  1. depends upon the radio station.. on the radio disney, you will be able to hear it but the quality won't be good (more noise than signal possibly) and would probably need a car stereo to hear anyway.

(1310 am signal I am talking about)

and there are no other radio disney channels in the area ..sorry

  2. It's not that far a drive, go check it out. But notice those canyons and hills you go through? That's the thing that's going to affect you most trying to receive an Oakland station in Monterrey.

Highly unlikely, and though snatches may get through, as gearbox points out, virtually unlistenable.

  3. The station you are listening to (1310) has lower wattage at night, and is not on a regional freq, so it will die down quickly. You will start losing the signal in the hills south of the airport.

  4. depends on the signal from the station and the built in aerial on your walkman, so can not really give you a good answer other then try it and hope for the best
