  1. If you have time and cash available - look at the lightweight ranges of clothes that they sell in outdoor shops and similar. They are light, pack down small and are crease resistant.

  2. In the south i.e. melbourne sydney it will be the end their winter and starting to enter spring so you may need only 1 or 2 warm tops, queensland is hot all year round so just vest, t shirts light clothes. Trave light and youll be fine have fun its a beutiful country, check out byron bay!!

  3. I agree, the further south you head the chillier it could be, so make sure you have at least a light jacket, long pants and a sweater or two. Have a great time and don't miss Coffs Harbour!

  4. it will be spring so it will start to warm up but in recent yrs sept/oct has still been quite cold, around 15-20 degrees celsius

i would recommend something thin but long sleeves cos u can still get sunburnt, & perhaps a light jacket that's waterproof cos it rains in spring

    hope u have fun travelling!

  5. Lucky you!

September /October will be short sleeve weather anywhere above Sydney and you won't need much more than a light jacket and perhaps some long sleeve shirts and light trousers everywhere else. At that time of the year, a light layer or two will do the trick. Be a devil and get yourself some knee length shorts if you're going to Queensland. Believe me, everyone else will be wearing them and no-one will even notice you. No stockings up there either - you won't need them for warmth and none of the 'native' Queenslanders will be wearing them. You should be able to choose your entire wardrobe to be no-iron - ironing is for the birds when you're on holiday. I live here and iron maybe 10 things per year. Remember, before you pack, lay it all out then reduce it by half. Then reduce it by half again and pack it. That's all you'll need.

    Enjoy your holiday.

  6. Just make sure you have plenty of knickers and you will be fine. Also you can take light trousers and t shirts.

Good luck on your adventure and I wish I could come with you. I've always wanted to visit Australia.

  7. It will depend on where you are going.

Queensland, NT and northern parts of WA will be reasonably comfortable through the day and cool at night.  The further south you go obviously the cooler.

For the most part casual wear is perfectly acceptable.  So casual light weight pants (long shorts, 3/4 and full length) and skirt if your female (sorry I forgot to check).  Bring one good pair of long pants / skirt so you can go out at night for diner etc.

T-shirts / half arm shirts / blouses will suit day time, with maybe a nice shirt and one maybe two long sleeve shirts (these last two can be combined).

A light but warm jumper is a good idea.

Bring comfortable shoes, a decent pair of walking shoes and a going out pair.  A casual pair of sandal type shoes may also be appropriate depending on what you are doing.

  8. You lucky devil, you. Can I join you?
