Me and my gf want to get way from the horrible english summer - does anyone have any reccomendations from their own experience? Would like to spend some time on the beach, but also like to explore local towns, and cultural aspects of the area, so an all inclusive in a cut off resort is not for us. Do you good people of yahoo answers have any tips - don't feel you have restrict yourself to the above, as long as it's hot and interesting, and not too far away we're keeping our options open.

Thanks

  1. I've been to all three countries.

My recommendations would be. Agadir. Morocco

or Taba Heights Egypt (from which you can take side trips to Israel and Jordan)

  2. Turkey, east and west culture, beautiful architecture, and beach if you want it. Try Istanbul, or in fact anywhere, we didn't  have enough time to see much but what we did was wonderful

  3. Egypt.

You have nice beaches and history and it is cheap.

  4. MOROCCO is the place to be.  Not only is it cheaper than the two others it's also a bit smaller which will allow you to visit more places than the rest( Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakesh, Agadir, Essaouira...).  Whatever it is that you need you can find in morocco from beaches to mountains and desert.  I have traveled a lot and I currently live here so if you need any help or information contact me.

  5. It depends on what you like to do...Egypt is the best for history, the temples, pyramids, valley of the kings etc are awesome (I've just come back from a Nile cruise...excellent!

I was in Morocco last year, it was great too. We had a few days up in the Atlas mountains and a few days in Marrakech (stay in a Riad, this where we stayed..

I've not been to Turkey but a couple of my friends have been and sing its praises.

  6. Turkey! You'll see tons of old stuff, St. Sophia's cathedral in Istanbul, there are lots of souvenirs and you could travel around the ancient cities!:)

  7. go to antarctica.... it would be a tad cold but u'd get used to it.. haha

  8. MOROCCO!

    its absolutely stunning over there.

    the colour scheme is incredible

and it really takes your breath away

but i guess its about what you prefer.

  9. Id say egypt I really enjoyed it when we went a few years ago, there was lots of things to do, Turkey was good but it was far to hot and from what Ive heard its always that way.

  10. Turkey has many beautiful things to see, It holds a lot of tourist (ancient) attractions. It can be any holiday you want it to be, quiet, lively. Places I have visited there are:-

Altinkum:- lovely beach, quiet, quite back dated, chilling holiday.

Bodrum:- Can be quite lively at nights, lots of ancient attractions

Marmaris:- My favourite, it has everything.

Also it's hot most of the year round, and is extremely cheap. I can't praise it enough.

Other than that, I love Spain..... not mainland though ;) Good luck.
