  1. Shortest way will be through Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany (1097 kms ; 685 miles), however it depends on what you plan to see ontour.

  2. Where will you be crossing into Europe at? Is there anything else you want to see enroute?

  3. Calais - Arras - St-Quentin - Laon - Reims - Metz - Brumath - Baden-Baden - Karlsruhe - Pforzheim - Stuttgart - Ulm - Memmingen - Kempten - Füssen - Nassereith - Innsbruck

    1,060 km - approx. 11 hs

Tolls: 42.30 Euros for a normal car

In Austria: You need a toll sticker for the Highways/motorway (Autobahn)

    prices for a car:

    7.70 Euros (10 days)

    22.20 Euros (2 months)

73.80 Euros (1 year - or 14 months - this years yearly sticker is valid from 01.12.2007 until 31.01.2009)

While 10 days and 2 months stickers are valid from the date marked on the sticker the yearly sticker is always for the calender year - buying one now is not a good idea.

Note: THe price for the toll sticker is not included in the 42.30 Euros.

You can buy Austrian toll stickers at Automobile clubs, tobacconists in Austria, at the border or at gas stations near the border (germany and Austria).

Those stickers are controlled, not having one cost 120 Euros fine!!! You have to stick them on the windscreen.

THe route I mentioned leads through France, Germany into Austria. part of the last 70 kms is not on motorways
