  1. Halong Bay is a must. And u can get on the trishaw and see the city itself. It will be a really great experience. U can also try the tapioca wedding cake which is really nice.

  2. If u really wanna understand & live like a vietnamese, don't go by taxi, go by "xich lo". If u know any Vietnamese, tell them to go and buy stuff for u. Cuz when the seller see that u're a foreigner, he/she 's gonna charge u a much higher price. Things to eat: pho, bun cha, bun rieu cua, xoi, nem chua ran, banh bao chien, nuoc mia, banh chung ( the traditional cake of vietnam). Things to see: lang bac ( masolemn of Ho CHi MInh), Hoan Kiem Lake ( the most famous lake in Hanoi), Temple of Literature ( van mieu), Hoa Lo prison ( nha tu Hoa Lo)... They're all for free. Enjoy ur trip!!!!!

  3. you MUST see halong bay! it is GORGEOUS people from ALL ages enjoy there!

you must also just spend a day or so just wandering through the streets and purchasing stuff from hawkers and stall holders. VERY enjoyable! be careful of the traffic though! its wild!

  4. i had been to Vietnam start of May ,and stay there for 4days.

Halong bar ,you can't miss it . others i don't think is worth to see.

And i perfer you have some friends there ,or it will hard to communion~~ and as foreigner, you need pay more charge than the locals.

And be carefull with Vietnam Man~~ if you are a gril.

  5. You should definitely head to Halong Bay, which is about a ~3 hour ride (but you should be able to find local tours or arrange it through your hotel).  It's a beautiful area with mini-islands and caves.  The other must-do, even though it is a bit touristy, is to visit the Ho Chi Minh Memorial, where you can see the body of Ho Chi Minh.

  6. Hanoi is a unique city with tree-lined boulevard. French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental temples will give you the unforgettable imagines.

Must visits : Hochiminh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda, Fine Arts Museum and Temple of Literature and the Lake of the Restored Sword ( center area ) and the Old Quarter of Vietnam’s capital.

If you have got more time, go to the Museum of Ethnology.

Must enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show in the evening at Thang Long Theatre.

Must taste Cha Ca dish at Cha Ca La Vong

Other vists Near Hanoi: Halong day trip ( contact any Huong Hai Boat, Bai Tho Boat... for the shuttle bus for halong ) as other anserers mentioned.

  8. Ha-Long Bay is the famous sightseeing in Hanoi.  There are 3000 islands in the bay "said to be the dragon descended into the sea", Lots of interesting sightseeing, with the travellers taking in Hochiminh's Mausoleum and adjoining museum, the unique water puppets show ..
