Amalgamation of cheshire regiment?

Question

i have heard that sometime in sept there is an amalgamation of the cheshire regiment and another regiment. does anyone know anything about this as my dad was in the cheshires and would like to go.

It is to unite with The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regt, and The Staffordshire Regt, to form The Mercian Regiment.  See below for the information.
