Amanda Bui captures Girls 50yard freestyle title – High School State Championships, San Francisco
Amanda Bui of LOW captured gold medal of the Girls 50yard freestyle in Junior category at the 2012 High School State Championships in San Francisco, California on Tuesday, May 1.
Bui went full rampant in the single lap IM discipline as she gave no chance to her competitors and finished her swim in first place for gold medal. With her alluring efforts, stayed comfortably ahead of her challengers and emerged on the finishing end for
the title of the event.
She remained evidently strong for the title of the event and stepped on the medal rostrum for gold medal by clocking a time of 27.59 seconds.
Her title-claiming effort remained almost 0.50 seconds faster from her subsequent competitor and her team-member, Eva Heyert, who ended her swim for silver medal with the timing of 28.04 seconds.
Heyert was followed by Wendy Liu of LOW, who proved her eligibility for bronze medal of the discipline by clocking a time of 28.30 seconds.
The third position holder was trailed by Shannon Do of LINC, who stayed just 0.11 seconds away from securing bronze medal of the event and clocked a time of 28.41 seconds for fourth position.
Following that, Jordan Jiang of LOW upset his challengers by seizing gold medal of the equivalent event in Boys corner. With his remarkable efforts in the one-lap discipline, Jiang captured gold medal by submitting a time of 25.71 seconds.
He was followed by Kevin Sun of LINC, who remained only 0.04 seconds slower and claimed silver medal of the discipline by posting a time of 25.75 seconds.
Similarly, Sun remained 0.34 seconds faster from Kenneth Woodson of BAL, who tapped the finishing end with the timing of 26.09 seconds for bronze medal.
Woodson was trailed by Eric Dang of LINC, who secured fourth position of the event by submitting a time of 26.94 seconds while Orlando Nguyen of WASH ended fifth in the event with the timing of 27.31  seconds.
Furthermore, the championship came to an end after the conclusion of all planned swimming events while the position holders were awarded accolades at the medal ceremony.
