Amanda Kendall and Skylar Smith impress in Austin: Texas Senior Circuit
Day four of the 2011 Texas Senior Circuit commenced in stunning fashion with the impressive performances of Amanda Kendall and Skylar Smith in Austin, Texas, on Sunday, July 10.
Amanda Kendall secured victory in the Women’s 100m freestyle meet, while Skylar Smith won the Women’s 200m Individual Medley event. Austin Surhoff grabbed the Men’s 200m IM crown, whereas, Jimmy Feigen nabbed the Men’s 100m freestyle race. Tripp Cooper of
Woodlands captured the Men’s 50m butterfly event.
Kendall hit the wall in 55.78 seconds to win the Women’s 100m freestyle meet, while Caitlin Geary wound up second in 56.24 seconds. The third place went to Kelsey Amundsen in 56.85 seconds.
More importantly, Kendall won her second event of the night in the Women’s 50m butterfly in 27.25 seconds. Skylar Smith earned second place honours in 28.59 seconds, whereas, Kelsey Leneave finished third in a time of 28.70 seconds.
Skylar Smith of FCST took home the Women’s 200m IM crown with a winning time of 2 minutes and 20.23 seconds, while Leah Gingrich wound up second in 2 minutes and 20.29 seconds. Erica Dittmer of Aggie rounded out the top three in 2 minutes and 20.32 seconds.
Austin Surhoff won the Men’s 200m IM crown with a winning time of 2 minutes and 04.16 seconds, whereas, Hayes Johnson wound up second in a time of 2 minutes and 04.55 seconds. Ty Stewart of YHF earned third place honours in 2 minutes and 06.88 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Men’s 100m freestyle race was captured by Jimmy Feigen with a victorious time of 49.59 seconds and Garrett Weber Gale earned second place honours in 49.66 seconds. Dax Hill wound up third in 50.09 seconds.
Tripp Cooper clinched the Men’s 50m butterfly meet with a time of 25.30 seconds. In the meantime, Andrew Wang of Longhorn finished second in 25.66 seconds. Madison Gibson and Knox Hitt ended the meet with a tie in 25.95 seconds.
Earlier, Andrew Phillips of Longhorn took home the Men’s 1500m freestyle crown with a winning time 15 minutes and 59.67 seconds.
