Amanda Kendall and Tripp Cooper impress in 50m butterfly event – 2011 Texas Senior Circuit
Amanda Kendall and Tripp Cooper displayed their wonderful swims in the 50m butterfly events on day four of the 2011 Texas Senior Circuit. Kendall won the gold medal of the Women’s 50m butterfly event, whereas, Cooper clinched the title of the equivalent
event in the Men’s category.
The session included the finals of 50m butterfly and the 1500m freestyle in the Men’s and Women’s category.
In the Women’s 50m butterfly, Kendall of UN-LA, who qualified as the fastest swimmer into the final, earned the respect of arena by earning the gold medal of the 50m event. She won the title of the event by producing a wonderful time of 27.25 seconds. Her
time was 1.34 seconds away from her following swimmer, Skylar S Smith of FCST-GU, who completed her swim in a second fastest time and won the silver medal, by clocking a time of 28.59 seconds. She was followed by Kelsey Leneave of The Woodlands-GU, who reached
the podium for bronze medal, by posting an immaculate time of 28.70 seconds.
The next meet of the session was the equivalent event in Men’s corner, where the top qualifying swimmer, Cooper of The Woodlands-GU ensured the gold medal, by posting a time of 25.30 seconds. He was 0.36 seconds faster from his following swimmer, Andrew
P Wang of TXLA-ST, who sustained his second fastest qualification spot and touched the wall in a time of 25.66 seconds.
Wang’s team-member, the 20-year-old Madison Gibson, improved his timing by 0.11 seconds to earn the bronze medal of the event. Gibson, who entered the final by clocking a time of 26.06 seconds, presented a beautiful swim of 25.95 seconds in the final round
to pocket the bronze medal.
In the Women’s 1500m freestyle final, Jordan Hancock of FCST-GU achieved the gold medal of the distant freestyle swim, by touching the wall in a fabulous time of 16 minutes and 54.70 seconds. She was almost eleven seconds ahead of her following swimmer,
Lauren C Ross of UN-ST, who touched the wall for silver medal by submitting a time of 17 minutes and 05.86 seconds. Colle Konetzke of AAAA-ST appeared on the finishing wall for the bronze medal of the long distance event, as she touched the wall in 17 minutes
and 28.79 seconds.
In the Men’s equivalent event, Andre Phillips was the fastest swimmer to reach the finishing wall, as he won the gold medal in 15 minutes and 59.67 seconds. He was followed by Elliot Dewlen and Manny Mendoza, who won silver and bronze medal in a time of
16:07.30 and 16:10.34 minutes, respectively.
The championship concluded after the completion of all swimming events, while arena acknowledged the gruelling efforts of all participants.
