Amanora Cup: Aditi Madhav Kale ousts Shriya Jayant Bhagwat in Women’s Singles quarter-final
India’s emerging shuttler Aditi Madhav Kale showed her wonderful aggression on court and toppled her lower ranked team-mate Shriya Jayant Bhagwat in Women’s Singles quarter-final at Amanora Cup on Friday, December 28, in Pune.
The impressive Aditi, who is the third seed in Women’s Singles draw of the championship, played with remarkable speed and she easily showed exit to Shriya while consuming just 17 minutes on court.
Aditi was in smashing form on court and she did not show any mercy to her lower ranked country-mate at any stage and eventually finished off the battle in straight sets with an inspiring margin on the board.
Meanwhile, the un-seeded Shriya could not show aggression on court as she played quivering badminton and conceded many points by hitting negative strokes. She crashed out without proving her worth in straight sets.
It was a tough fight in the initial rallies when Aditi showed attacking display of her incredible craft on court.
The phenomenal variations in Aditi’s shots helped her to maintain a wonderful domination against her lower ranked challenger and stayed in strong position.
Aditi did not show any sign of confusion as she remained in complete command of rallies until the one-minute interval.
The contest progressed in the similar fashion after the one-minute break as Aditi did not lose her control in the arena.
Aditi continued employing powerful smashes in targeted areas and managed to bag the first set with a comfortable score of 21-12.
Shriya increased her speed to play smart badminton in the first half of second game but could not pile up pressure on her opponent.
The powerful smashes and net killings kept Aditi ahead of her challenger all the way until the end of first half in second set.
Shriya could not show resistance in the second game of this contest as her rival Aditi played better game and secured the set with a sound 21-13 score on the board.
The aggressive Aditi remained successful in finishing up this Women’s Singles quarter-final clash in straight games by taking just 17 minutes with a completely crushing total of 21-12 and 21-13.
