Amanora Cup: Harshad Bhagwat beats Abhishek Sadanand Kulkarni to wrap up Men’s Singles title
India’s upcoming player Harshad Bhagwat showed a wonderful performance and wrapped up the Men’s Singles title after crushing his un-seeded challenger Abhishek Sadanand Kulkarni in the final encounter at Amanora Cup 2012 in India, on Sunday, December 30.
The top seeded Harshad, who made his presence strongly felt to his home fans by playing remarkable badminton in all of his matches, played with superb precision against Abhishek and won the match in just 25 minutes.
Harshad was in superb form as he did not miss any chance to earn points and eventually remained successful in winding up the final encounter of the competition in straight games with a superb margin on the board.
Meanwhile, the lower ranked Abhishek could not put up strong show in the final battle as he failed to play positive badminton and finally bowed down to his top seeded challenger without winning any set.
In the first set, the impressive Harshad delivered a staggering feat on court as he played shots with commanding control from opening points.
Harshad proved that he has got top class skills on court and ultimately successful in getting a strong position on court.
Harshad did not show any confusion as he was in complete control of the pace until the end of first half.
The confused Abhishek failed to get stronger after the one-minute interval as he lost his focus on court.
Harshad did not reduce the pace of rallies at any stage and easily grabbed the opening game with a staggering 21-8 margin on the board.
In the second game, Harshad played with stunning speed without sparing any opportunity for Abhishek to get a good rhythm.
The powerful smashes and net killings kept Harshad ahead of his rival all the way until the one-minute interval in second game.
Abhishek could not show strong performance in the second set of this contest as his opponent Harshad played positive badminton and grabbed the game with a comfortable 21-10 score on the board.
