Amar’e Stoudemire’s uncontrollable excitement on Melo’s trade to Knicks
The Melodrama finally drew curtains on its final episode when Carmelo Anthony’s trade was made official late Monday night, 21 February. Anthony’s fans and many of the NBA officials drew a deep breath as Anthony was safely handed over to the Knicks
just three days prior to the NBA trade-line to be held on 24 February. After this trade, New York is now home to two superstars of NBA. Amar’e Stoudemire, the 28-year-old will now be playing side by side with friend-turned-‘team-mate’.
Anthony landed in New York, the one team that he was wanted to play for since a long time. The deal consisted of three teams who both received and lost in this blockbuster swap among the trio. The trade consisted of 12 players, three draft picks and
$3 million cash of course!
Stoudemire is all pumped up after the trade took place and seems excited about the whole dilemma. The power forward who has made it six times to the NBA All-star denied being involved in the trade that brought Anthony to New York. Even when all this
trade talk was taking place, Stoudemire had limited giving his speculation over the situation but now that the trade has finally been made official, he is exhilarated and said that New York Knicks will be “hard to guard” after Melo’s trade to New York. This
is indeed true, considering the fact that the All-Star forward will now make a flaring duo and set every game on fire along with Stoudemire.
Anthony was shining despite being under the trade pressure and destination unknown. The ace in his last days with the Denver Nuggets, was concentrating solely on his performance. On the other hand, Stoudemire is himself a player who leaves everyone
awed. The player registered the New York Knicks a 28-26 record this season. Just imagine what a combo they would make, Anthony with his 25.2 points per game and the 6’10” tall player scooping an average of 26.1 points per game.
In a press conference, the player expressed Anthony joining the Knicks and said, "It's what he wants. It's what I wanted, to come to New York and play on the big stage," He also added. "He has the same type of swag. This is what he wants and he can
handle it. We're going to do it together."
Anthony was definitely on the seventh sky when the trade was made official and thanked his fans and friends for support as he tweeted, "Wow, just had the craziest 12 hours of my career. So much to say, but really want to thank all my fans and friends
for their support!"
