Amaretto Sour Recipe?

Can someone tell me how to make a good Amaretto Sour?

I make Amaretto Sours all the time, but I don't frequently drink them.  On the occasion I do have one this is how I like to make it:

In tall rocks glass (about 10 oz.):

2 oz. DiSaronno (or other amaretto)

fill glass with sour mix

splash sprite

splash maraschino cherry juice/grenadine

float a cherry

Makes it a nice sweet treat!

1 jigger Amaretto

splash (2-3 oz.)of Sweet & Sour Mix

optional: 2-3 oz sprite makes a sparkling Am.sour.

Amaretto Sour

1.5 oz  Amaretto

1.0 each  maraschino Cherry

0.75 oz  Lemon juice

1.0 slice  Orange



Directions: Shake well with crushed ice and strain into whiskey sour glass. Garnish with orange slice and cherry.

SOur mixes are often per-made with liquer in them and if you want more amaretto you add it, call local party stores, everyplace me has all these things, you know like bloody mary mixes, whiskey sours, which you can use amaretto, mojito's etc,,, so call and see, check it you may have call a few but its cool, you'll find it. also go to a website I thik its mixmaster dot com or something I bought a book on all sorts of liquer recipes, its fun! make up your own stuff be brave you'd be surprised how much cost you can cut. have fun

the original amaretto sour is 1 ounce amaretto (shotglass) to 6 ounces sour mix all over ice in an 8 ounce glass

Here are a few possible ways:

This way if you only have certain ingredients you can try a different version

1 slice Orange

1 ½ ounces Amaretto

¾ ounce Lemon Juice

or

3 ounces Amaretto

1 ½ ounces Lime Juice

1 ½ ounces Lemon-Lime Soda

1 ½ ounces Sour Mix

or

3 ounces Sour Mix

1 ½ ounces Amaretto

or for a less strong version

4 ounces Ice (Crushed)

4 ounces Sour Mix

1 ¼ ounces Amaretto
