  1. Is it really that hard to spell American? Or to click on the sequence of characters that goes "Check Spelling?"

  2. I could see it for the franchises that are not doing well financially. But why should it be done just to satisfy some nationalistic jealousy? Teams left Canada in the past for one reason or another. Why should we move a successful team from a city just because their ponds don't freeze over in the winter?

I don't have a problem w/ more Canadian teams, but let's do it for the right reasons.

  3. I wish!

  4. The problem with that is lack of population in Canada.  Look at teams like Quebec and Winnapeg who had teams but couldn't turn a profit.  Canada just doesn't have enough population to support as many teams as the US.  Granted I think there are some American teams that really shouldn't be, like why does California have so many teams?  It isn't a hockey state and they really don't need 3 teams.  I mean when was the last time the Kings were good, oh yeah never.  Even Gretsky couldn't make them good.  Flordia is the same, too many teams.  I mean when you've got two teams who the first time they play all year is in the Stanely Cup Finals that should tell you something.   They need less teams or more games, and lets face it they couldn't squeeze in very many more games without s******g the season.

  5. I agree.  Unfortunately, the fianances of the game have proved otherwise.  If Phoenix (it's the freaking desert!) can support a team, why can't more canadian cities do the same?

  6. I definitly think Canada needs more. I thinks its kind of sad to see Winnipeg, or any other city in Canada for that matter, without a team but having to watch Flordia or Hotlana (Atlanta) getting low attendence. For total attendence in 2008, five of the top ten were Canadian teams (Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal). The other five are from were the residents have actually seen the weather make ice and snow (Buffalo, Philly, Pittsburgh, Anaheim...okay not them...And last but not least, my home state team, The Minnesota Wild!)

Me being from Minnesota and losing the North Stars to Texas was heartbreaking. And the really sad part is Madano is still with the team. Starts it with the North, ends it with the Stars. Anyways...

It sucks too to think that Hockey and sports in general have been turned into a business. Its all about the dollars.

  7. i don't see any reason why it should change

  8. With the collapse of the American dollar - and respective increase in strength of the Canadian - I think you'll see it.

Hockey is Canada's game (and ours of course), and those teams in the South are displaced Northerners and retirees, American and Canadian alike.

I'd hate to see further expansion - I remember the days of 6 teams - Go Habs Go - but lets put some of the failing US franchises in Canada.

  9. what's Amarican hockey?

  10. Bring back The Quebec Nordiques!!!
