Analysts said that by participating in the US Open 2012, Ko is set to get on a success path. They pointed out that winning is out of the question for the young golfer, but standing firm in the face of tough resistance at the prestigious tournament will help
her add more shine to her profile.
The 2012 season brought plenty of surprises for the rising star, as she won the Australian Women’s Amateur Golf Championship in an impressive style.
Moreover, she had been stunning in the 2011 season as well, as she grabbed three amateur titles.
In addition to proving her mettle in amateur circuit, Ko has also made a name for herself in professional golf. She surprised her fans and competitors when she won the 2012 Bing Lee/Samsung Women’s NSW Open as an amateur player.
Commentators said that although Ko took part in the Bing Lee/Samsung Women’s NSW Open as an amateur player, the victory against pro players earned her plenty of reputation.
Speaking to the media about what she plans to do in the looming battle in July, the New Zealander player said that she is looking forward to doing her best in the event, as she has been training hard on the practice range.
“To play the US Open as an amateur, that's pretty amazing," said the golfing sensation. "You know some people play as a professional their whole lives and they're unable to play the US Open so it's a big honour to be playing it".
