Amateur Michael Burgoine debuts at PDC, the U.K Open marks his first opportunity to make an impact!
Amateur Michael Burgoine is eying the U.K Open as his chance of making a name for himself in the world of darts.
He will face PDC’s newcomer, Tony West in a tough match to prove his skill and talent.
The U.K Open is a platform for amateurs to face legends. This is the factor that makes the U.K open the most exciting darts event.
Burgoine is a talented young player who has a passion for the game of darts. He is sponsored by Bedford College and hopes to create havoc with his first game against the former World Masters Champion.
The competition is a little too tough for the young Burgoine as names like Phil Taylor, James Wade and Simon Whitlock are among the key PDC players, competing in the mega event.
He particularly appreciated the format of the competition as anyone can beat anyone, ignoring the fact whether one is a legend or an amateur.
“I’ve been to the UK Open as a spectator and I love it, I love the format because anything can happen and anyone can beat anyone” said Burgoine.
After qualifying through an amateur tournament at Stevenage, the young dart thrower has been dreaming of participating in a PDC event.
The pressure is on him and he accepts it, yet, he's focusing on gaining rather than thinking too much about losing.
“As a darts player this has only been a dream of mine and now it has come true,” said an excited Burgoine.
The U.K Open provides amateurs to depict their individual talent and craft among the best in the world. This opportunity is seen by a few and this can have a major impact on this young dart thrower’s future career.
Performing with names like Phil Taylor, James Wade, Simon Whitlock and Adrian Lewis is itself an honour for any amateur, as it not only competing, it is also learning from these legends.
Burgoine may have a long way to go but as far as his career is concerned, his participation in the U.K Open is of key importance as this competition will provide plenty of darts education for the youngster.
