My brother got a Yamaha 80cc, and he would like to join races. How can I go about finding local races, something not too far from home?

  1. Perhaps state where home is as the country I am in, there is no way you would race supercross on a 80cc as you would be outclassed and you would also need a National Licence with Supercross endorsement, but I am sure it is different in America at least so state what country and what is close to home.

  2. the web

  3. No biggie, just go to your local motorcycle shop and ask where the local tracks are. They generally have guys on staff that race regularly at these tracks and usually have flyer's in the store with race and open practice dates. What you need to ask about is motocross, not supercross. Supercross is generally what the pros do in large stadiums although many MX track are also adding a supercross track which is generally just shorter in lenght and has more jumps. Supercross is not for beginners. I would recommend spending some time just going to open practice to hone his skills and let him get familiar with the track before letting him race. You do not have to be an AMA member at all tracks, but most do require it. It is a wonderful sport for kids and generally you see less injuries in motocross than in high school football. Have fun!!

  4. well to do amateur supercross you have to be a AMA MEMBER and at some races have 2 have a district card....like im district 11 here in ohio.....i race pro now so i no what the ropes are..so do that and then jus search local tracks n c where you can go.

  5. im not being funny but i would get yourself to a decent level at motocross before you start supercross
