  1. Sony CyberShot DSC-W300 Black...it ideal for you to start your career without any camera equipment frustrations!

13.6 megapixel....will give you amazing picture no matter if you're a beginner or not!

3x optical zoom...is average zoom for you because it hard to shoot in this zoom when starting off!

Auto Focus....easier to quick shots or action/motion shots

6x digital zoom...a little above average for you because sometime you want to catch something, but keep a good distance will keep the shoot in full focus or not disrupt it!

Self-timer...great for self-portraits or  action scenes!

156 gram....small so easy to carry around to do a photo-shoot on demand if needed!

2.7 inch LCD review screen.....above average and more than enough!

"Charger Included!"....I wished I had one of these when I started. I've run throw so many batteries!

£189 - £299....you get what you pay for, so in your case to start your journey as an photographer this is a deal! I've been a photographer for 3 1/2 years now and I can say I wished I had this camera when I took my first shot. Trust me with 13.6 mega px you will have all confidence because it will be hard to see error in your 1st point and shoot. But just wait until you get to editing!(lol) Good luck and always keep your camera on you!!!!! Everyday brings a new shot turn masterpiece, but it won't find you!

Last point of advise...try for your first week just shooting by looking only from your 2.7 inch screen, then take the next week shooting by looking only from the eye veiewer. There's a lesson that every photographer must learn for themselves, and I hope you find it.

    Hope it helps!

  2. If anyone has a answer to this tell me aswell plz. I am also a amature photographer

  3. If you really want to advance then I would recommend any of the entry level DSLR's from Canon and Nikon. A SLR offers complete control over the cameras operation. You can adjust shutter speed, aperture, ISO, Focus, white balance etc. You can also choose the lens you need for the situation your photographing. Some models to look at would be

Canon Rebel XTi, XSi or the new XS

    Nikon D40 or D60

If all you want is a camera to take snapshots of your friends then a good point and shoot will be fine. Look for one that has the most zoom you can afford.

  4. It would help to know how much you can afford.

Avoid the Nikon D40, as there are a lot of pre set programmes/shooting modes missing from it. Bracketing for one.

If you want to see what my camera is capable of, then message me, and I will send you a link to my site, so you can judge for yourself.

For £500, you can get a 10mp DSLR with 18-55 lens, and a 70-300 macro.

    Hope this helps.

  5. The best camera review site I've seen is http://www.dpreview.com/ - they have pages of detailed info on each camera they look at.

  6. I am a semi professional photographer and I would highly recomend the Cannon 350D it is far better than the 400 and would be a very good camera to start with you can add to it later with extra lenses good luck with the photography

  7. I personally think D80 kit is the best buy for the first good amature DSLR camera. Why? It's going out as D90 might be coming out shortly, and it therefore becoming very cheap. It has all the features of D200, which went out replaced by D300 already, but I still think D80 is the best value for money. I mean if you have to ask this question, you'd be better off with a mid range low price D 80 with kit lenses.

  8. Sony DSLR-A200

Should get it for about £350.
