Amauri is set to return to Juventus, claims agent Giampiero Pocetta – Serie A Transfer Update
Juventus FC striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Amauri-c5381 is set to return to Turin after spending second half of the season on loan at Parma FC. The player’s agent, Giampiero Pocetta, claimed that his client got the vote of confidence from the Juve officials and will come back to the
Bianconeri to complete his contract period, which lasts until the summer of 2012.
The Brazilian-born Italian international joined Parma on a loan transfer on January 31 and his deal with the Ducali expired today. The striker played 11 games for the Crusaders and scored 7 goals, while adding a single assist as well.
The striker found his goalscoring form on his time away from La Vecchia Signora and he has been linked with many big names in the Serie A like AC Milan, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and Palermo. However, the striker’s representative believes that his client’s future lies in Turin.
Palermo were the frontrunners in signing the forward and the club’s President, Maurizio Zamparini, was keen to add the player to the Rosanero squad. However, the 5 million Euros per year salary was considered too steep by the Eagles and they bailed out of
consideration.
However, the player’s agent recently claimed that there have been no meetings with Palermo and Juve remains the destination for the 2011/12 season. While talking to Sportmediaset, the agent clarified:
"Amauri is an important player for Marotta. He is in the final year of his contract and what is certain is that he will return to being a Juventus player. Palermo? I have never spoken to the president. The player is currently on holiday, and when he returns
he will be with Juventus."
Amauri joined the Turin giants back in the summers of 2008 and signed a four-year contract. The Lady Killers are in search of attacking options in the ongoing summer transfer market and the return of Amauri would prove to be a great development for the upcoming
term.
