Amaury De Lusignan ready to enthral in Charles Stanley Handicap Chase at Sandown
Amaury De Lusignan is in fantastic position to come up with a fine performance in the Charles Stanley Handicap Chase, taking place at Sandown on Friday, March 09, 2012.
Not much time left in the race, as the show is scheduled to kick off at 14:55 (GMT). The going is soft for the 2-mile event, holding a cash prize of £5,848.
There will be five fast and furious contestants in the Class-3 meeting, which is expected to produce a lot of entertainment. Among the participants are: Amaury De Lusignan, Baseball Ted, Quipe Me Posted, Owner Occupier and Novikov.
Amaury De Lusignan has been impressive over the last couple of months. The six-year-old struggled with his form in the initial part of his career, as he clinched no victory last year.
However, the gelding adopted a positive tactic and started off the New Year with a bang. On January 31, Gary Moore’s trainee exhibited a splendid show to seal an emphatic win in the Bet totepool Text tote To 89660 Handicap Chase at Folkestone.
He went on to seize top place in the Crystal Services Handicap Chase at the end of last month. With two back to back wins under his belt, Amaury De Lusignan will be tough to beat today.
Quipe Me Posted looks only big threat. The eight-year-old did well in early 2011, but lost his direction towards the end of the year. In his last race in 2011, the bay gelding completed the order of finish at Leicester.
After an embarrassing performance, the bookies were not expecting anything special, when he made his first race of the year on Feb 27. However, the Suzy Smith-trained did well to secure third place in the Crystal Services Handicap Chase at Plumpton.
Prediction
Under a 7lb penalty, Amaury De Lusignan will be very difficult to control. Quipe Me Posted looks dangerous, but it will be extremely hard for him to challenge the favourite.
Baseball Ted is another strong contender, who might cause an upset. Nonetheless, it will not be a child play for anyone to overcome the class of Amaury De Lusignan.
