Well, for our fair, we were having a hard time deciding where the money should go to (if you want to help, look at my last question) but the animal shelter is very close to my friends and I and they asked us if we could hold some dogs there to advertise for the shelter. We picked 5 cute, healthy dogs to come and play in my backyard for the day. There is a small area fenced in (we have a big backyard) so they won't get in the way. Whats going to happen is the 5 dogs are going to get a chance to play around in the yard, and people can enter for $5 to play with them. They are all small dogs so nothing can happen, and people from the shelter will be standing buy. All the money from this part goes to the shelter. Do you love the idea or what?

  1. Sounds like it might be a good fund-raiser.  The only drawback might be the liability issue.  A child might aggravate/hurt a dog by innocently playing with it and, as a result, it can snap at them, no matter how small the dog might be.  If the child gets bitten, you might be legally responsible since the dog is on your property.  Or, possibly the dog can get hurt by the child.

Once you take both scenarios into consideration, and make sure there are no legal risks involved, the idea sounds pretty good.  It can also help give these dogs a new home.

Best of luck.  Hope you make out well with your cleaver idea!

  2. I think it is a wonderful idea.  Make sure with the shelter that you are not responsible if someone gets bitten, etc.

The dogs need all the help they can get.  Love them!

  3. Sounds like a wonderful idea! but you should make sure your not responcible if a dog snaps/bites anyone. But i love the idea!
