Around 3:30 AM I woke up to hear my guinea pig squeaking and jumping about. I got out of bed turned on the light and checked on him. He was limp and looked like he was going to die. I sat with him trying to figure out what was wrong. After hearing him cough for a few minutes I thought he may have something stuck in his throat. I opened his mouth and saw a piece of his food lodged in his throat. I had a bobby pin near by grabbed it and I knew it could be risky but i straightened it and tried to work the piece of food out. I got the piece of food out and he started breathing but it seemed to be too late. He fell and his side and sat still for a few minutes. I thought he was dead but I noticed a faint sign of breathing and heartbeat. I prayed that there would be a miracle and that he would live. I was surprised when I saw him start to move his head a little bit. He slowly got up and looked okay besides his leg which was still very limp. I felt around on his leg and noticed that he would 'cry' everytime I touched it. I figured that it was broken from earlier when he was choking in his cage and thrashing around. For a few weeks I will be confining him to a rather large shoe box so he doesnt move it that much. I will give him a fresh supply of water and a few feedings of food everyday. Please no rude comments.

  2. Well, it's all about "Law"now, he doesn't want to hear good stories on Yahoo Awnser. Well, I thought it was a good story and would like to offer you a chance to be  one of our editors for our Non profits newsletter. You spelled better and painted a better picture than any question I have read in months. Well if your interested, go to our website and contact me. I can send you rough drafts and possibly some other stuff to do? And your story could most certainly have saved another persons guinea life, I am not so sure all 14 year olds could do this, and you are lucky you were there. www.theothersideofthefence.org/

  3. Where's the question?

Sorry, but this just seems like desperate, attention seeking boasting.

Well done and all, but this is a place for questions, not 'look at me, I saved my animal in a very simple way that anyone else could have done in this situation.'
