All three games of Insomniac’s PlayStation 3 exclusive first-person shooter will be released in the Resistance Trilogy pack, after the online retailer listed it for sales online.
Amazon.com has continued its fine form of revealing games before time and listing products before they are even announced, the way they did with God of War: Ascension and many other titles in the past, by listing the Resistance Trilogy.
It seems Sony are looking to cash in on the popular alternate history first-person shooter one last time by selling all the games in the series together, wrapped up under the ‘Resistance Trilogy’ banner.
The PlayStation exclusive shooter has remained a PlayStation 3 exclusive since the PlayStation 3’s launch with Resistance: Fall of Man, a launch title for the console.
Resistance 2 followed soon after and was praised for its expansion on the sense of scale that the first game had introduced. It was the first time that many gamers felt as if they were fighting a huge battle as a number of friendly and enemy AI were battling
it out for their lives on screen.
One could sit back and admire the 100-ft mech they had to destroy or the 20-ft mini-boss that popped up now and again, yet the shooting was satisfying enough to keep players interested. It was the sense of scale that really sold the game though and made
for some truly awe-inspiring moments.
Resistance 3 changed the pace a bit and added a grittier, more atmospheric and ‘resistance-y’ feel to the series and was a triumph in its own right. That game, however, was the final chapter in Insomniac’s story as the studio ended its exclusivity deal with
Sony.
Sony are now bundling out all three games in one pack and gamers can get the entire Resistance collection for 59.99 Euros when it made available on the 16th of May.
The news broke after the French wing of Amazon.com listed the Resistance Trilogy on their website. The deal sounds great for those gamers who have not given the series a try and is decently priced for anyone who wants to ensure they have a more complete
collection of PlayStation 3 games.
