  1. either dead or they magicly stabilized

  2. yes. no need to get someone else killed rushing to the morgue

  3. Well it could mean that it is very serious or death but with lights off I would assume it was a death

  4. No, they should be driving with their lights on if it's at night!

Or something fishy is going on!

But during the daytime, it either means the person doesn't need to be rushed to the hospital, or they're deceased.

The sirens are used to alert other drivers and get to the hospital faster.

  5. Not necessarily...lights and sirens can cause the patient to become nervous and actually make their condition worse.

If the person were dead-the coroner would show up and take the body away.

Ambulances only use the lights and sirens in emergencies where the EMS personnel know that it will not affect the patient's condition or the patient is in such a bad state that the lights and sirens are the only way to get to the hospital the fastest.

  6. LOL no, all it means is that there is no traffic they need to get through. They turn their lights on to alert other motorists that they need to get through.

  7. Dead or their not too badly hurt and dont need to be rushed. This is the wrong section.

  8. it could mean the person maybe they didn't incur an injury warranting them going to the hospital or it means they are dead and of course in no hurry to get to the hospital

  9. Not necessarily- there are lots of reasons not to use lights and /or sirens leaving a scene.

-driver just hasn't gotten around to it yet or has forgotten

-traffic and road doesn't warrant usage yet

-the noise/light could upset/worsen pt. status if conscious

-family/pt/police wanted to not cause a scene or call attention and asked for this courtesy until clear of scene

    -they blew a fuse

-pt is dead and is simply being transported to ER for pronouncement
