  1. Looks like the RM-70 is slightly faster and uses slightly less power which means less heat problems and a better chance to overclock safely.

    Here's a side-by-side comparison from AMD's website:

The RM-70 is 100MHz faster and consumes 4 less watts of power.

The Athlon has been AMD's money-maker for a very long time now.  They continue to tweak it here and there in order to squeeze more performance out of it, but any design has it's limitations and the Athlon design is nearing it's limit.

The Turion is AMD's latest mobile chip design.  It was built using all the best features of the Athlon design, only better.  It has more memory bandwidth (2.1GHz more), twice the L2 cache (512k per core), and delivers a processor-to-system bandwidth of 19.2GB/s (2.1GB/s faster).

The Turion is by far the better chip.  The additional cache alone  should give a very noticeable performance increase.  Also, the lower power consumption will help prevent processor slow-down during processor-intensive gaming.  Couple both those with a higher processor speed and there's really no question... the Turion wins, hands down.

You can view the actual processor specs here:

    Athlon (QL-60): http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/Prod...
