Amer Delic bags an easy win over Henry Steer in qualies – Legg Mason Tennis Classic 2011

Mason Tennis Classic kicked off at the William H.G. Fitzgerald Tennis Centre as 18-year-old Henry Steer came up against Amer Delic of Bosnia.
Clearing the first match of the tour, Amer Delic, 29-year-old, qualified for the 2ndround qualifiers. Ranked at world No.240, the Bosnian plays as a strong baseliner and considers serving his best shot. Delic surpassed
the American in the first round with ease. With an indestructible defence, the Bosnian did not give away a single chance to the American to break him.
Delic took just 54 minutes to sit in the 2nd round qualifiers of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic. Presenting a 6-1, 6-1 beating to the American 18-year-old, Delic had an amazing 100 percent 1st serve winning
in the match.
The match started off as the 18-year-old home boy served the opening game of the 1st set and eventually broke down to the world No.240. Delic washed away with the next three games frustrating the young American with
a 4-0 lead.
Steer did manage to pull off the next game to his winnings however, that was it for the young home player. Delic won game 6 on his serve and eventually the set as he broke the youngster for the third time in the set to win 6-1.
Steer opened up the second set winning the first game 1-0. The scores rolled again, this time in favour of the American as he won game 2 of the set. Delic went of breaking the American twice, once again, in games 4 and 6 of the
second set and taking away the set with the same score.
The 31 points won in the first set by the Bosnian added to the 26 he won in the second totalling 57 points together with 28 service points and 29 returners. The American went pathetic as he scores 11 double faults and was aced
5 times by the Bosnian. The final set concluded same as the first one 6-1.
Amer Delic is now the first player in the 2nd qualifying round of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic tournament. The 29-year-old will face Marinko Matosevic for a spot in the main draw.
