Question:

America's role in the Georgian/Russian conflict?

I remember the last few weeks people have been stating that Georgia started the skirmish with its 'invasion' of South Ossetia (which is technically Georgian territory) in order to further American interests. Now that Joe Biden has condemned Russian tactics in his speech at the DNC, has the public's view of this conflict changed?

  1. Let me try to put this into perspective for you.  Bare with me because I DO have a point to all this...........

    * Consumer confidence has plummeted;

    * Regular gasoline has soared from $2.19 to over $4.00 a gallon;

    * Unemployment is up over 5.5% (a 15% increase);

    * American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate

    * 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

    * Stock market has dropped 3500 points in the last 2 years

    * Billion dollar banks needing to be bailed out

    * Reports that over 150 smaller banks could be gone in 2009

    * Highest inflation rate in over 27 years

    * Credit crisis for most Americans

    * Worste economic climate since the great depression

    * US troops in Iraq

    * US troops in Afghanistan

    * US troops still in Bosnia for heavens sake

    * Looming threat of war with Iran

    * North Korea once again defying the US

    * Presidential election in 2 months / country divided

    * Possibility of HIGHER TAXES if Obama is elected!

    So given ALL OF THIS...........I think Americans have enough to worry about besides what Russia does in Georgia.  I know I certainly do.
