seriously what is the big problem in having lots of immigrants in the U.S. i mean they help out by working and stuff and they just want a better life than in their old country - they even deport people who have no criminal record or anything they have paid their taxes and have done good yet they still take them away even in front of their families and its just destroying families nationwide - the worst thing is most of the time they target hispanics like mexicans even if they are doing nothing wrong - the police stops them on the street and then call immigration - who knows they were probably on their way to bring money to their needing families well this is long but seriously what is the big problem i wrote a letter to the white house telling them how i feel yet no reply in months - i want to help but how?

  1. Well, Post 1036(who I seriously doubt is a Deputy) is pretty much a perfect example of why people don't like illegal immigrants, it's the attitude!

If they want to be American citizens, great! Sign the guestbook learn the language and culture and above all, do it legally. If they want to be whatever nationality they came from first that just live in America, Go back to where you came from, we don't need you or want you!

  2. ACTUALLY illegal immigrants pay for all you americans on wal fare and blacks on wal fare toooo. Ok even tho they are illegal they are still working and getting docked from their checks. They still pay taxes and wtf are you talking about the guy who posted the first response . illegals isnt costing americans anything its illegals from latin america that make this country what it is till this day. If you want your jobs back well gladly let you clean your house, your toilet, your work plce, well gladly let you take care of animals and grow food for super markets al around the Us and well gladly give you back all of your fast food jobs because look i was an illegal got my green card got citizen ship and look now ima a Deputy Sheriff. Where always going to be in this country no matter what.......................................

    Individual and justice for all

  3. I thought Yahoo answers was for that - helpful answers for people who have good questions.  I'm not against useful debate or discussion, but your question basically only gets people who feel pretty string about whatever side they sit on to come out and reiterate the same arguments that we've already heard.

So here's what's wrong with your question.

Are you for a country even having immigration laws?  If so, then you've got to grant that country the right to deport men and women present in their country without the sanction to be there, even those who have paid taxes and led an apparently law-abiding life.  Personally, I'm skeptical that these laws have made any measurable impact on law-abiding and tax paying illegals because residency/nationality status is a frequent issue in criminal prosecutions.  In NYS, a judge is required to warn a defendant that his/her plea of guilty can negatively affect his ability to remain inside the US; The likelihood that a criminal defendant already convicted of a crime - typically by pleading guilty - will be quickly deported is quite low.  DHS has a two-pronged system, giving priority to defendants who are incarcerated for a month, letting other convicts (including many felons) slip by for who knows how long.  That scenario you mention, of the police calling immigration authorities - the possibility of immigration showing up and whisking these guys away is just science fiction.  Unfortunately for many of these illegals, the opposite, and more painful scenario is likely: the get arrested and spend months, perhaos even a year or more before somebody realizes that there's an immigration issue.  Our guy ends up doing some nice time in custody and THEN gets deported.

Your "families being destroyed" thing is pretty evocative, but also unfair - I mean, just who is putting these families in that position?  Either you have families of mixed status (because you have children born in the US) or everybody's the same.  In either case, you have human beings who made the choce knowin the risk.  The worst case is those who bring their alresdy born, yet still infant children with them.  These children are most vulnerable because they can be deported as easily as the adults even though they are the least capable of settling back to the original country.  Yet as in the other cases, this is still the result of illegal aliens assuming a known risk.  Your suggestion that hispanics are being targeted is quaint in our post-9/11 world.

The reason that your questions have been ignored is simple - you rail about a suggestion and propose no solution.  Nobody is happy with the situation, but you provide no explanation for why an alternative would be preferable.

  4. Immigrants who are in this country illegally are costing the legal US citizens 336 billion dollars per year and if they want a better life then they need to come back legally but if they want to come here illegally I say deport them all save the citizens of the US some money. Also Illegal immigrants have been statistically causing more crime then the legal US citizens so You saying oh they are here for a better life all they are doing is costing us money out of our taxes and taking jobs from legal citizens.

  5. Justice for all CITIZENS.  Illegal immigration is a crime and costs this country billions of dollars yearly.  Police don't target Hispanics, it just happens that since they are right next door there are more of them.

  6. I have no problem with immigrants at all. it's only illegals that really get my blood pressure up.

  7. There is nothing wrong with immigration. Its the ILLEGALS that there is a problem with.
