  1. Australia all the way. I couldn't think of anything worse then being surrounded by Americans 24/7. Great for a holiday, but not to live.

  2. I've only traveled around the Midwest of the US, and am moveing there next year. I found the people there to be really nice, helpful and friendly. A lot of things are significantly cheaper in the US, except for health insurance which is ridiculously expensive. (they don't have public health, so you really need it!) But I have been told by an American friend living is Aus that the cost of living basically evens out. There is also a lot more to see in the US. it isn't just a whole lot of desert! haha

  3. Too many guns & violence in America for me, you need health insurance as well, and there is little welfare and the minimum wages aren't as good - so I have heard. Maybe you can move there and compare the both for us.

I love Australian culture, but I am sure Americans love their culture as well, I guess you can always go there and try & come back if it doesn't suit.

  4. i love America, America offers more then most countries. but it is becoming over crowded, its hard to find a good place to live and jobs are hard to come by. i wouldn't even consider coming here till this whole war thing is over and the economy improves.

  5. To the poster who thinks Australia is too "outback-ish"

Australian cities are just like other metropolis's. No "outback " to be seen. Obviously if you go to the centre of Australia where there are no big cities you will find the outback.

Just to clarify things. No, Australia does not look like the Outback Steakhouse, and secondly we do not travel in Kangaroos pouches.

  6. If you're young, why not see if you can go to the US for a working holiday or as a camp counsellor or something like that. In the long run, you'll come to see that Australia is the best place in the world to live, but travel really does 'broaden the mind' and the time to do it is now while you're young. I've spent a lot of time in the US and really like the place and most of the people, but Australia provides a better and safer lifestyle and you will eventually come to see that. Also of course, immigration to Australia is difficult, but to the US (for Australians) it's far more difficult; almost impossible in fact unless you get employer sponsorship or marry an American (even then it's not easy).

Go for a short time and see what you think - it's really not like you think it will be.

  7. America used to be good, by now they've turned fascist, :(

  8. I'm an aussie, I have spent a lot of time in the states travelling to NYC, DC, California etc etc. It's all good, people are nice but I don't rate the food, that a side, it's a great place to travel too but there's no place like home.

  9. I'm English and would love to live in Oz, but never in America.

    Too dangerous!

do your self a favor and visit before you move move here if you spend all that money to move and dont like it you'll be disappointed and broke.

  11. I'm an American, and I love my country. We have beautiful National parks, beaches and an assortment of theme parks and amusement parks. I don't think I would want to live in any other country. But I do intend to visit Australia in the future, as I have read about it and watched documentaries on it. I find it also to be a beautiful and interesting country. And I believe when I do visit there, it will be a time in my life that I will remember very fondly.

  12. I'm Australian and I want to live in America too.

  13. I live in Australia and I don't even want to go to America for a holiday, they love themselves too much, I can't really stand them. They think they are better than the rest of the world.
