1st- I'm an American and possible want to get my degree in Perth. Some people have told me it's so far away from everything else in Australia, that ill regret it. That it will cost so much to see those other places... but from what ive seen and heard of Perth it seems like a wonderful place (just not sure if its wonderful vacation and NOT living place).

What's yalls input?

2nd- how easy/hard would it be for me to get a job there. Id only be able to work 20 hours, per the visa. Any suggestions?

  1. when people say perth is the worlds most isolated city, it can be misleading. Although this is the case, it's not like you'll be living in the middle of the bush in a hut and no neighbours.

Perth is still a decent sized city with everything, just like the other capital cities.

In terms of visas, do make sure you follow the correct process as not doing so could result in being sent home.

Getting a job would be fairly easy anyway.

  2. I heard jobs are plentiful in The Escort area.

  3. Perth is the most isolated capital city in the world.  Perth is actually a wonderful living place, and not a bad holiday place either.     I'm living in Sydney

It's a poor place to base yourself as you can't really do many 'sidetrips' as flights to the eastern cities (sydney, melbourne, brisbane) as the flights would be quite expensive to do regularly.   Although nothing wrong with flying to Australia, doing some travel before and or after your study .  Having said that Perth is in the state of Western Australia, and that has some amazing scenery there. so you will still find plenty of things to do!

If you have a working visa that permits you to work, you won't have an issue finding work.    Depends upon your skills though, but should be no isues at all.
