  1. More like about 25% of the worlds oil.

  2. The US does not TAKE any oil.  It legally buys its oil in the free market.  Even the oil in Iraq is sold to the world market by the Iraqi government.

  3. No, and it isn't a bad thing either saying we're the richest country in the world.

  4. I think it would help to realize that we are all in this together. Yes, as one respondent said, we do pay  for the oil.  And yes we are the richest country.  The problem with this kind of thinking is it imagines the U.S. to be uniquely deserving of using  25% of the worlds resources and producing 25% of its greenhouse gases with 5% of the population.  And it lacks the awareness that the whole world is in this together.

  5. You do realize we pay for every barrel we use, don't you?

  6. The US appears to be the largest consumer of oil, with China coming in second. This site lists nations in the world with their respective consumption of barrels of oil per day. It's sobering..

  7. Thought it was less but America does consume far more than other places in the world. This very strange for the reason places known for sunshine have not been in use for Solar Power. Solar Power could be a good addition to The American economy. Public Solar Power Stations might replace  oil with a less expensive form of energy. Then it would not be true anymore.  Other places have this also problem solved. Society then serves people as should were other programs in use to have it that way. Solar Power Party to augment existing organizations to achieve this of help.
