American's.... What Do You Think Of London, England??

Question

I am a Londoner living in Kensington South West Central london and I was wondering what you thought of London as in such cities as New York there are sooooo many sky scrappers and London only has many tall buildings but only a few sky scrapers (canary wharf, the city)

I loved it there when I visited for a month. I know the crime has gotten worse there but there is so much to do. You have to watch your surroundings. I adored all the old cathedrals and many plays to see. I'm from Illinois...which is the same state in which Chicago is located. Chicago is so confusing. London was easy for me to figure out. I felt like I was on an adventure every day that I was there. You feel so small and young when you are there. I think that's why I loved it. There is always something more to discover. Especially the Cabinet War Rooms and the museums. I could have stayed at the National Portrait gallery for days!!!

ive never been to the UK but REALLY wanna visit.

i live in california [near SF] and i hear that london is alot like san francisco and new york city. however, i know for a fact that london is very crowded

I really liked the mix of ancient and modern architecture in London. The lack of sky scrapers did not bother me at all.  I found it refreshing.  I enjoyed sightseeing and the Tube was very efficient.

Unfortunately, I found the people (in general) to be quite rude and unfriendly.  There were, however, exceptions.  The man we rented our flat from was very kind and polite.

I do hope to go back someday.  I probably won't stay inside of London though.  I'll most likely stay in Bath or Windsor and make a day trip to London.

Not every city or place has sky scrapers. In fact, there are more people in UK living per square mile than in USA. The most populated place in USA is NY which has just over 8 million people. And that is NY city. London has over 7 million and is much more packed. So you see, more ppl in UK than in USA.
