I have a feeling you're not looking for opinion, but instead issuing a baited question.  You're looking for people to respond saying "no, they shouldn't" and will then launch into a tirade about the bad people they have represented.

ACLU should be investigated and dissolved. The lawyers should be tied to a rail, painted with tar, feathered, and made to apologize to the constitution of the United States,and the people. They should be incarcerated till there 79 yrs. old, than deported to somewhere ina diffrent country. For the pain they have caused for so many groups and individuals, this would be the only civil thing to do.

only if all the rights and privileges guaranteed by the us constitution, and most specifically the bill of rights, are absolutely guaranteed never to be limited or restricted in perpetuity.  not likely to happen.  as indicated by some answers already, folks are always ready to impinge on another's rights.  the first amendment guarantees the right to free speech and the right to assemble (join together for a purpose as does the ACLU) but people here seem ready to deprive people who support the ACLU from having the right.  the ACLU does, on occasion, support the rights of individuals and organizations that are unpopular.  a free society requires that the rights of all be supported.  therefore, while i may despise the opinions, speech, purposes, of an individual or group, i recognize it is important to protect that entity's right to such speech, purpose, opinion.  we can only protect our freedom by protecting the freedom of all.  i despise the KKK, and I'm none too fond of the NRA. that Limbaugh person makes me want to vomit.  but i would defend to  my death the rights of all to their opinions.  what freedoms do you think we are supposed to be fighting for in Iraq?

No, the ACLU should not be dissolved. They are an important tool in maintain our system of government based on our Constitution. I understand that many people see this organization as defending criminals and they see this as a bad thing but, in defending the rights of one individual, we uphold the rights of the many.
