American Doctors trained in Mexico? Why?

Question

Why would an American go to Mexico to go to Medical School? And if they did do you think they should post that on their website. I was just looking at a website of a local Dermatologist and he and his wife both went to school in Mexico. Is that odd? I urned me off. Should it? Or am I being to fussy?

There are plenty of good medicine schools in Mexico, being the best the Autonomus University of Nuevo Leon UANL. There is e college in my city where people from Brazil come to study medicine. Also get this, the best doctors in the world are from Cuba.

LOL....This is really funny and Jordan's answer was a dilly!!

I have known several people who went out of the country as they could not get into a medical school in the USA. Plain and Simple. Just could not and so their parents sent them out of the country and paid big bucks for tutors to get they ready for all boards. Some people do not test well under pressure and others just aren't smart enough. Schools out of the country can and do take advantage of the fact that it is a thriving business to take Americans who could not get into school here in the states and work with them (because they will pay and pay) to get them ready for some sort of internship or whatever they can qualify for here. Their are less and less American doctors as there is more and more liability and less money in medicine. So naturally since we need doctors we get them where we can.

I don't think you are fussy. You are a wise consumer and if you are paying for a service you are entitled to be anyway you want.

I for one would by pass them and look around for someone else too!

i actually have no trust in american doctors. i go to mexico to see my doctor.. i know so many people who've gone to the doctor here in america and get no answer for their problems and end up going to mexico and find an answer to their problem.
