American Football??????????

Question

Do any other countries play this game apart from the USA.. and why is it called football? Cos Its not like football where u use ur foot to kick it and stuff is it? x

It is played in Canada and in parts of Europe and some Asian countries. It is spreading in popularity as well. I know it is confusing to others, just as Rugby and Football are confusing to Americans when they see how it is played outside of the U.S.. They DO kick the ball after scores and at the beginning of each half. There is also the Field Gaol ( which is a kick for 3 points) so there IS some kicking, just nothing like the version of Football you are used to. Each has its unique advantages and points of interest....but............

You don't use you your feet and it isn't a ball.

Why is it called football then?  Because we say it is football, and we don't give a d**n what the rest of the world thinks about it.  That's why!

As for kickball, for the love of God cut the field in half so that someone scores a point once in a while! Kick, chase the ball, kick, chase it again, chase it some more, kick, chase it yet again, out of bounds. What kind of game is that? Make the field half as big with a wall to keep the ball in play and it would be a lot more fun to watch.  

Watching a bunch of Euros run forever chasing he dang ball before kicking it once and then chasing it again is boring as h**l!

I spent a lot of time watching the Olympics.  Handball, fun to watch and exciting with lots of scoring.  Water Polo, fun to watch and exciting with lots of scoring.  Soccer, dreadful.  Basically all three are the exact same game but soccer was horrible because there was no scoring at all and very few shots on goal.

Yes, several other countries play American Football,

Japan, Korea, and many European countries,

but it is ametuar.

The reason it is called football is because the game is started by one team kicking the ball off to the other team. Therefore, Kick Ball
