  1. Lol.

Without a doubt the average American Footballer is bigger. I mean they have guys of Sumo Wrestler proportions on the defensive / offensive line. What 350 pounds plus? A lot of them die in there forties due to obesity related heart conditions - but hey there only job is to wrestler the offensive / defensive line of the other team for about 6 seconds every play to stop the quarter back getting sacked. That pushes up the weight average - but if you want to proud of a tub of lard that does effectively 3 minutes of wrestling in a 2 1/2 hour game, and couldn't run a 100m to save themselves - then be proud. We could pick a big sack of s&^t in a league team as well - problem is STAMINA is needed for 80 minutes. Something your guys lack.

Some are better athletes for a burst. Some are quicker, but the stop start nature of the made for TV game generally means they only need to perform for 6 seconds (average time of a down) then they get to huddle up, chat, take a time out or swap with one of the other 64 guys on the bench. I mean it is 4 x15 minutes quarters that take 3 hours to play. And the average player is in either offense or defense only (or special teams), so even the best player will only play 1/2 of that. So yep - must be hard to spend 25 minutes in a three hour period having the odd run, and mostly "huddling up" to get the play set.

Good one. Being proud of mass producing Sumo wrestlers and calling them sportsmen. No wonder there are so many big arses out your way. Be proud of being the fattest nation earth has produced.

  2. Rugby league/union or AFL players don't take the steroids that USA football do, so we can never be as big, heavy or "faster".  How long after a USA footballer retires before he dies of heart failure or some other ailment due to steroids?

USA footballers need time-outs to catch their breath or take another pill, as opposed to Aussie sports where there are no timeouts, except if someone is injured or going to the video ref.

If USA football didn't have all the time-outs it may be a good to watch.

  3. i think Aussie football

because when they are to old and slow

    to play aussie rules

they get a gig in the american game

  4. u dumb American bit..ch u obviously dont even now wat rugby league is. There is so many fings wrong with American football i dont even think it should b classified as a sport.

Helmets in football? WTF LOL i thought it was football

    Pads? soft!

Most of the team go's threw a whole season with out even touching the ball? OMG

Half the players r way way over w8 which funnily enough sums America. But it is understandable y they r because they dont do s**+.t all, they just need 2 be strong dats it, no skill no brains! so u see thats y  they r bigger u idiot I doubt if they could last 5 min in the NRL. And god nows how many r drugged up on roids. The only bigs hits u see is wen some 1 smashes some 1 else dat ain't lookin, usually a small quarter back. Its just embarrassing, a game of chess is more exciting

  5. League and/or AFL are endurance games with players sometimes playing for tenminutes or so before a break in the game.

NFL players are purely power based. They play for about ten seconds, have a drink, have a talk, get some instructions, pat each other on the helmet and then after five minutes of that play for another ten seconds before one of the refs throws a flag on the play the game then gets stop while half a dozen people sitting in a box try and decide why the ref threw a flag on the play. Meanwhile the players have had another drink, another chat, received more instructions.

Meanwhile back in australia the game has been played and won and the players are out either celebrating or drowning the sorrows.

  6. You ARE kidding, aren't you? Purleaseeeeeeeee! That airy fairy game they play in me-us land is a big laugh.

  7. 5'11 my a$$

    are u focking retarded?

not only is league a tougher sport but u dont stop every 5 secs, thats why u have fat blobs that weigh over 400 pounds making your linemen, they barely run at all

  8. Easy target.... maybe too easy.

Rugby League wins hands down. Look at the international USA Rugby League team, a representation of your nations talent (most likely brought up on Grid Iron). They get given a lesson by most of the world.

Two different styles of game, and the NFL is stop start.. so they might have some big boys... but not the speed, fitness or endurance that our guys have. That and the NFL is specialized... our guys do it all (attack / defend) for 80 mins, with minimal stoppages and only 2 halves of play.

You have some great athletes in the NFL.. but we have better Football Players. Try comparing your game to the AFL, you might have a chance there. I love the NFL (Go Raiders) but you are peeing in the wind here.

As for the helmets... more about merchandising than the size of your players. League is harder... and look what we wear.

  9. Aspen your right

Randy Moss would outrun any player in the NRL even Matt Bowen

We have some big forwards but O Lineman are massive

Come on you put the New York Giants (Superbowl 42 winners) against the Melbourne Storm (NRL Premiers) in a game of league New York wins

And look at the Australians in the NFL they are all punters that do nothing because they can't keep up

  10. why do you call it american football.does all the players be given a football to run to the goal line.no.and most of them do takes steroid to beef up.aussie fotball whether its union ,aussie rules and league are far better game the gridiron.and most of them are drug free bodies.gridiron depense are only a few metres.unlike our own are more.try tackling a  league player on the full run while you are standing up.american football are boring to me.

  11. At least Aussie Players play the whole game. NFL has an offensive team, a defensive team, a goal kicker, a punter, and about a thousand 2nd and 3rd string reserves. Get some heart and play the whole game with one team...

  12. There is 0 skill involved in american football. Real men play aussie rules. American footballers are all show, padding, helmets and the whole lot. They are weak, perthetic losers.

and like the people above said, when AFL players are to c**p to play AFL they go to america and play american footy.

AFLers could run laps around american footballers (who are slow and unfit)

  13. American 6'5 250 of helmets & pads.

Wimps.  Rugby is the toughest of them all

  14. It's a different game altogether. The Aussie's are smaller, but I wouldn't doubt their toughness or their ability to run through someone.

  15. nfl players may be stronger

but i doubt they are faster, big fat helmet wearing tossers

would be left in the dust

as for the more athletic thing are u smoking crack

you guys have offensive and defensive teams

the game stops and start every 10 seconds

the actual game play only lasts 60 minuets but it takes 4 hours to play a game start to finish

yeah their real athletic they start and stop running for 10 seconds at a time for 20 minuets over 4 hours

    ahahahahaha

and the real reson they wear pads and helmet is they are a bunch of pu$$ie$

there is also alot of guys in the nfl who are 5'11"

2 just of the top of my head ted ginn, zach tomas

you make out evey guy in the nfl is 6'5" 220 but you know that is not the case dont you?

i play rugby and i tackle guys who are 6'5" 120kgs (that 275 lbs for you yank simpletons who have know idea about the metric system)quite a bit im only 5'11"

go back to the nfl section

  16. several years ago 2 top nfl players came to oz to play for the newtown jets, one never survived the training the other played 15-20 minutes ,they both went back to the usa basically on the next plane, they were interviewed at the airport and said that rugby league is just to physical for them,

  17. league is a tougher game. you could not possibly guarantee nfl players are stronger, faster or more athletic. how many nfl players do you know that make 30+ tackles a game on players that are 25kg+ heavier than them and play a full game. unlike nfl, league is a more continous game we have only 13 players on the feild that attack and defend nfl have  attack and defence players that swap and change consistantly. when i played league i was 65kg and was tackling players nearly 2x my weight and running at them ,i got up and walked away ok.

  18. I have to say... we are tougher and bigger... we dont hide behind shoulder pads and helmets... we play tough footy.. blood and sweat...

but u can not compare the games as they are very different...
