American High School-What is it like?

When are the holidays? When are the final exams of the year done? When is prom? What is homecoming and when is it? What time does it start and what time does it finish?

depends on the area... well like homecoming for me is in the beggining of the year. for us it's when we show pride for our high school (pretty weird i know) and then we end it with a kick-a** football game and a dance. prom is towards the end. i have two "final exams" each after the end of a semester (there's two semesters splitting the school year in half) holidays are two weeks off for christmas, a week off for thanksgiving, and a week for spring break. starts at 7:20 ends at 2:21

Holiday breaks include: Spring break, Christmas break, Thanksgiving break, etc. They vary in length but most don't last more than a week or so.

Final exams are done before christmas break (1st semester) and at the end of the school year (2nd semester).

Prom is in the spring (April-May).

Homecoming is an traditional dance and celebration which takes place a little after the start of the school year to welcome back students.

My high school starts at 7:30AM and ends at 2:40PM

We generally start end of August to middle of September. It depends on the school.

My school had final exams in early December and end of May. The school year ends at the end of May.

Prom is between April to May.

Homecoming is a casual dance. I mean we dress up still but it's not as formal as prom. And it's usually at the beginning of school around September to early October.

the only holidays we get off are for presidents.

School starts at the end of August, and usually is over at the start of june. you go to school five days a week, except holidays. A school day starts at 8:20 and gets out at 2:25

There are many holidays.

president birthdays

a couple days around thanks giving

and 2 weeks around christmas

memorial day

any national holiday

and any day the teachers meet with parents, or are in meetings to improve there skills

Final exams for my school are at the end of january, and at the start of june, just before school gets out.

Prom is at the beginning of may.

Home coming is a football game, and dance. It usually takes place between a rivial school, and your school. There are usually pep assembalys before, to get people to attend. And there is usually a spirit week leading up to it.

Spirt week is a week of school where you dress crazy, to show that you enjoy the school you attend. I can be anything from halloween day, crazy hat day, and there is always a day you have to where school colors.

Homecoming takes place mid october.

American high school can be boring, or really fun, it depends on what you make it. I chose to make it fun.
