Question:

American Independent Brewery Beer?

The recent buyout of Anheuser-Busch by a foreign brewing company has prompted me to seek out a new brand of beer to drink. What I would like is a list of independent American beer brewers. The only brand I know of to begin with is the Boston Beer Company (Samuel Adams). Thanks for the help and go have yourself a nice cold beer! :)

  1. There are hundreds of craft breweries making thousands of beers in the United States.

On that link go to your state, click on breweries at the top and that should list all of the breweries in your state.  Aside from those there's going to be many regional brands available to you.

I like Grittys too but it's highly unlikely that unless you live in Maine, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts that you'll see any.

  2. Gritty McDuff's. They have a large number of different beers and ales. They've been brewing for 20 years in Maine. Check out www.grittys.com

  3. There are TONS of micro brews that are brewed on a smaller scale.  Try searching for a microbrewery in your area.  Chances are that there is one.

I guess it depends on what kind of beer you like as to what brewer you would choose.  Sam Adams is going to have the best variety and be one of the more widely distributed.  Miller is brewed in Milwaukee.
