American Kevin Johnson knocks out Harold Sconiers in first round – Boxing news
The American national, Kevin ‘Kingpin’ Johnson won a first round technical knockout decision against the 34-year-old, Harold Sconiers of the US in their six-round competitive bout on June 25, 2011 at the Elder Entertainment Centre in Georgia, United States.
The time was 2:18 of the first round when the referee Jim Korb called the bout off in favour of the 31-year-old heavyweight contender, Kevin Johnson. Annie Rowe Morgan, Rick Sells and Nola Oliver were performing their duties as the judges of the bout.
Johnson won his 25th bout against Sconiers at the Elder Entertainment Centre. It was Johnson’s third consecutive victory.
He has been an exceptional fighter since he joined boxing as a profession. Johnson fought 27 total fights of which he won 25 competitive bouts including 11 knockout victories with one loss and one draw in his professional boxing career.
Johnson made his debut successfully winning a technical knockout decision against Stanford Brisbone in 2003 at the Days Inn in Pennsylvania, United States. The only loss came his way when he lost a unanimous points decision against Vitali Klitschko in December
2009 at the Post-Finance Arena in Berne, Switzerland.
The American national, Sconiers faced the 23rd loss of his career after getting defeated by Johnson in his last fight. It was his third consecutive loss. Sconiers fought 42 total fights of which he won only 17 bouts including 11 knockout victories
with 23 considerable losses and two draws in his professional boxing career.
Sconiers turned professional winning first-round technical knockout decision against James Mullins of America in 1996 at the Virginia Beach in Virginia, United States.
After winning seven consecutive fights, Sconiers faced the first ever loss in his career when he lost a six-round point decision fighting against Clement Hassan in 1997 at the Grand Casino in Mississippi, United States.
Sconiers should try to learn from his past mistakes to stay active in that division. However, Johnson and his teammates will be very happy to claim this championship.
