American Muslim Men : If the USA went to war with the entire Middle East, who would you fight for?

Hypothetical Situation:

A nuclear bomb is detonated in a highly populated American city, the attack was orchestrated by several middle eastern governments including Syria and Iran. The United States declares war on these 2 countries and a draft is imposed.

Would you

1. Fight for your country, the country you've lived most of your life and the country you hope to raise a family.

2. Avoid the draft by moving to a neutral nation and never being able to come back to America.

3. Fight for the Muslim populated country and go against your own country.

Another thing, this is a hypothetical war on the extreme government, not the people. This is not a war directed against Islam, but the government.

And don't answer hastily, be realistic and put yourself in this situation and think what would you really do?

This should be interesting.

  1. whether an islamic state initiated a war, it is not fighting for the cause of allah (swt) and not unless one can see hordes of islamic troops heading to a territory and their origin is determined to be from this islamic states, it is hard to tell if they do really is an invasion....dropping nuclear weapons in US states can be done by anyone even by american patriots themselves and blame it on an islamic state where hordes of riches and resources could be acquired...like for instance the 911, if this was done for act of war, why wasn't the target a military installation or if civilian population, damages inflicted should be in bliztkrieg  operation, not just a small target.

ordered to fight...i would avoid the draft if it is against islam. it's no difference during ww2, majority of japanese americans weren't sent to pacific campaign except those in intelligence.Likewise would they sent american muslims ot fight an islamic war...fighting a war on terrorism is a different aspect.

  2. Azim, I hated your answer. You're telling me that if America was at war with a Muslim GOVERNMENT, not the people or Islam, then you would support the Muslim government whether or not it is fighting for a just cause. It's unfortunate to say that ANY Muslim government presently is at it's worse, it does nothing for it's people, it does nothing for it's country, and you want to defend such a government? You say you want to support your Muslims, yet you want to fight alongside a government that is destroying the very Muslims you're talking about. I don't think you know what you really want in life. And what sickens me more is that you're willing to abandon your parents, wife, brothers and sisters, even your children to go fight with America simply because you want to defend the Muslim government without questioning if the Muslim government serves it's people fairly or not. If you're such a follower of Islam, then teach yourself 1 thing if it's not so much to ask for. CHARITY STARTS AT HOME.... if you can't take care of the loved ones under the roof you share, then what makes you think you can save other Muslims?

I'm not a man, but as a woman I'd be devastated to see my husband abandon me and my daughter to go fight for a government that does nothing but destroys it's own people.

  3. Since the war is not directed against Islam, I would not even take religion into consideration and treat this like I would if a European country attacked us.  I am a citizen of the United States and it is my duty to defend my country.  So if i was an American Muslim man, I would fight on the side of America.

  4. If it is not a war against islam it is not a war I'm involved in. Period. This is what God has to say on war:

[2:190] You may fight in the cause of GOD against those who attack you, but do not aggress. GOD does not love the aggressors.

If A few fascist middle eastern gov'ts is hypothetically the agressor and its imperative I fight or else me and my family/friends will be killed, then I will defend myself.

  5. In fact that is not interesting at all....Iran and Syria detonating a nuclear bomb in the US!!!lolz.......It is like saying what would you do if superman offer you a ride on his back, flying the high skies!!

BTW...presently the world is reacting to bad choices the US has made concerning its foreign policies.

  6. Very good question. I never really realized how quickly a war and the related circumstances could sort the wheat from the chaff in America until just now. I am a Muslim, but I am also an American and I would fight for my country first because it gives me the right to be a Muslim the way I want to be a Muslim (and not the way the government wants). I get tired of Muslims who I know who enjoy everything they have here and yet say they hate the country and the people. I believe many others will answer that they are Muslim first, but still...how quickly a draft would clean up America is amazing now that I think of it. Either stay or go now. I like that actually.

Edit: Gloria - See? you are part of the problem. The world is reacting to bad choices made by Muslim extremists, but you will not accept that truth...until you do there will be no peace. The West is not perfect, but I would choose it any time over the alternative. The thing that needs to be done is to bring what is good from the West to the East and vice versa...not to constantly point the finger elsewhaere no matter how much sense it makes! I won't waste my time arguing with you though. Peace.

  7.   As a Muslim, I will always try to help my NEIGHBOR no matter where I am, insha'Allah.   If the country I'm living in is INVADED, I'm defending my life as well as my neighbor, women, children and old men, insha'Allah.  The cooperation required of us as Muslims includes physical and moral cooperation. The Prophet sallalahi alahi wa salaam  said, “Support your brother whether he is the transgressor or the transgressed. ” They said, “How can we support our brother if he is the transgressor? He said, “By preventing him from transgression.” [Reported by Imam Bukhari]

Because of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which was extended for 25 years on 27 July 2006, I have an issue with the 2nd and 3rd points you've mentioned- I have no intentions of being drafted (I'll stand my ground like Muhammad Ali, not run like a coward, insha'Allah).

  8. I would openly support my muslim brothers. Thier lives are worth more to me than any other life. You would do the same in my situation. my future and family and country i was born in means nothing to my muslim brothers who are fighting against the usa for a just cause. Remember, everyone thinks that THEY are the good guys. According to my assessment mostly due to historical facts and evidences, The west will instigate hate which will inspire hate back.. They will bring those nuclear bombs upon themselves (the government, not necessarily the people), and if they go to war in yet ANOTHER middle eastern country, I will flee the draft and join the other side. i could never kill another person who has declared "la ilha illala, muhammadur rasoolullah"

Of course this is all hypothetical and should never happen. Iran first of all has no access to nukes, and their programs are peacefull. (this claim that iran is trying to make nukes is like Bush's claim of WMD in iraq, theres no evidence or any basis, its an excuse to invade.) Honestly, the best thing america can do right now is hopefully stabalize things and get out of the middle east, Like EVERY SINGLE soldire. Unless one has the citizenship and the reqired permits to reside in a middle eastern country, he or she should find methods to LEAVE. wouldnt you say the same thing to the illegal aliens?
