American NRL fan here wanting to ask?

who has the better fans the rabbitohs or the roosters i'm kind of stuck between those to teams to cheer for. I know russell crowe partly owns the rabbitohs but i dont want to base my decision on that . Anyone that could give me an insight to what the fans are like for those two teams it would be well appreciated and i will let you all know who i choose to support after i have made my decision thanks.

You may wanna go for the roosters because they;

A- Have a better cheersquad (Rabbitohs have a lousy & terrible drum set)

B- Have been around longer than any other rugby league club (Rabbitohs left the competition in 1999 and returned in 2003)

C- Have better quality of players (Anasta, O'Meley, Fitzgibbon)

i'm from sydney an i been playin since i was 4

both roosters an rabbitos are both sydney teams and are local, i go for tigers because of there history, tigers and rabbitos are near each other in the area called licharttedh

and both have a great history.. rabbitohs will always be my 2nd favourit and next year there going to be even better!

No way the roosters have the huge fan base. We have the chook pen at roosters game where fans of the mighty team can gather and support the team. I tell ya you can hear them cheer every home game and on tv.

The roosters fan love there team and former roosters player now coach freddy fittler.

There will always be hate for the souths team when the roosters players but what team does'nt have a gundge against another team.

Follow the roosters as we are the best in the business and know how to win games. Not like those bunnies. Also what team would have a fluffy bunny as a mascot. We have a rooster and it means alot to us. Early to rise and scoop out the opposition.

South Sydney is the home of rugby league, need I say more. For so long all the rich clubs like the Roosters have come along and stolen players from the Rabbits and other not so wealthy neighbouring clubs.

Now that Russel has come along, he's put the club on level pegging with the other pay-per-player clubs and the tide is starting to turn.

Look for Souths to make the top 4 in 2008.

I definately think the rabbitohs have the better fan base for example you just have to look at when the rabbitohs were kicked out of the competition and the massive support they were given(fund raisers,protest rallies etc) by their loyal fans which ultimately helped in getting them back in the competiton and week in week out the fans keep turning up and showing that they love their team whether they are winning or losing. Now the roosters fans, what a bunch of stuck up, group of whingers as soon as they start losing games the roosters fans bag out their own team and as stated in a previous answer they don't like to travel to barrack for their team and when on a losing streak they don't even bother turning up to home games to support them. Rabbitohs have the better fan base. Now im a Sharks supporter and even when my team is losing i still stand by them no matter what even if it has been 20yrs plus since we took out a premiership.

Ummm if your basing it on fans, the roosters probably have the worst fan support, they don't really like showing up to games and definitely won't travel.

The Bunnies probably have more passionate fans, and definitely a large number of bandwagon jumper-onerers, not just because of russell crowe, but because of their hardluck story. A million people turned out for a march to reinstate them back into the comp, but why didn't those people turn up to their games before and after??

The Roosters are from the Eastern Suburbs and are cafe latte, designer clothing, posh people, while the Bunnies are from Redfern and are typically your missing teeth, begging for money, faint smell of wine people.

Well thats enough stereo-typing for one day!

I don't suppose you want to base your decision on anything else - like talent?

I'm a Brisbane Bronco's supporter & as far as both those teams go, i'd be going for the Roosters, the Bunnies are hopeless.

The dragons mate - go the dragons.  Did you know that the dragons have the most supporters with the name "Patrick"?  It's a fact - you can even join the elite Patrick Dragons fan club.  They are the best team ever - check out their history.  The big red V is the team for you.

The rabbitohs have your more typical NRL fans so as far as number of fans and thier passion go for the rabbitohs.

The roosters are typically a better off team, that although they have had unsuccessful years, will always have the money and support behind them. Roosters fans tend to show more decorum at games.

Personally I say go for any team except the Newcastle Knights-  their supporters are a disgrace

I'm another NRL fan from the states - and I say go Broncs. I will always love the Broncos, and the reason is two words: Gordon Tallis. You gotta love Gordo, always had his foot in his mouth but he has a ton of heart.

What sort of a bloke are you?  If you like to watch Rugby League and the game means something to you, even if your getting the rough end of the pineapple.  Go Souths.  If you're a loyal bloke that will stand up and cheer for a win, but will also tell the boys you're still behind them after a loss, Go Souths.

If you like to watch Rugby League as a trend, or to try to be hip and "cool", but really don't give a rodent's r****m.  Go Roosters.  If you believe that one team should have enormous influence on the competition to the point where they try to eradicate a foundation team.  Go Roosters.

Rugby league is dead every where in Oz except 4 Queensland, so go 4 one of the QLD teams they rock.

Dont lower your self to supporting one of those teams, that would b embarrassing. I can seriously say i dont now any rabbitoes fans + they have g*y little drummer boys that sound like tottal c**p instead of havin cheerleaders,.
