  1. I lived in Canada for 21 years and have travelled extensively in the U.S.A. You get good/bad, informed/ignorant etc. in any society and Americans are no different from any other country. I've met nice/not nice Americans just as I have in every other country I have been to. I must agree  with some of the previous comments about their ignorance of the greater World outside America. They do tend to be parochial. I once overheard an American policeman say he was going to England and was going to stay in " those beef and board places". I put him right about B&B's! I am a Scouser and was on a ski-lift with an American in an American ski resort. We were chatting and he asked me where I was I from. " Canada" I said, " Boy you Canadians sure have funny accents". I didn't tell I him I was Scouse so he most probably thinks Canadians sound like scousers.

  2. ill tell you what most people think of you...

your loud mouths and  very obnoxious; you think bigger is better; you think you have the biggest everything; you are mostly fat, except for the small percentgae of you that are exceptionally beautiful; you think you know better than everyone else, and your opinion counts for more than anyone else; you think that when something 'bad' happens, you need to take matters into your own hands; you are obsessed with retrbution, retaliation and payback; you are blind patriots; you think the rest of the world is inferior to you.

im not american... i like americans though, i really do. i think youse are friendly as h**l. im just telling you what the general vibe of the rest of the world is towards you....

btw, your bus drivers are crazy.

  3. Eat junk food all of the time, drive on the wrong side of the road, say howdy all of the time, can't spell words like colour properly, talk with a funny accent, love to shoot each other, think that the USA is the entire world and don't realise that there are other countries outside of America, think that England comprises of just London and that we all know each other as our country is so small (after all there are only 60 million of us)

  4. DUMB, REALLY REALLY DUMB!!!

I know there's loads of clever people there but the stereotype is that the average american is dumb.

Apparently they changed "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" into "Harry potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" coz american's are too dumb to know what a philosopher is.

I'm not saying this is true but it's the stereotype.

Yeah what other people said aswell,

Fat and OTT. Also one half of the country is completely backward!

  5. Well im in england and often on TV shows they ahow you as fat sat in a burger place.

And you all also have that crappy accent which i know you dont

  6. America has become a puss.y-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of robed sissies

  7. Very fat, ignorant  bigots.

  8. Loud, fat(sorry), and very OTT! but nice people all the same :)

  9. Americans have little idea of what the rest of the world's countries think about them. All these answers are neato to me.

  10. I am a British man married to an American woman. My experience of Americans is that generally they are like British people in most ways really. I have found that the Americans tend to be hugely patriotic, but pretty laid back in many other  respects. A little miss-educated when it comes to Geography and history and generally unaware of the rest of the world. In most respects though, you are the same as us Brits. You have a government that you seem to generally be ashamed of - which is a bit of a relief to me!. Every American I have ever met has always admired me just based on my accent which I find funny, and you seem to think that we are all privately educated, hugely rich and all know the royal family personally, or live within two miles of Buckingham Palace.

I think the Americans are given a hard time by the rest of the world, which is sad because the only exposure to America that most people in the UK get is the stupid programmes on how fat everyone is (which is not true) or the police chase programmes, or Britney Speares or Paris Hilton news which frankly means we are all doomed if that is what you are all like.

The truth is, no one can judge 'Americans', in the same way that no-one can judge 'The Brits'. Every one of us is an individual and acts differently.

  11. Ignorance towards the world outside their borders (Geography, Politics etc.)

Inexplicable Love of Firearms (a fully automatic assault rifle is NOT for hunting)

  12. As a nation I think of them as noisy, insincere (have a nice day) brash, overweight and arrogant.

In reality I have found the ones I have met to be friendly, sincere, and very normal, with a healthy attitude to their (and our) politics.
